B.Sc. in Interior Design
Being affiliated to the University of Mumbai, PiCA offers a 3 years (Plus one year for Honors) Course B.Sc. in Interior Design, approved by the UoM.
Our 3+1 year B.Sc. Interior Design program focuses on the holistic development of students by offering a well-rounded curriculum which is meticulously designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to transform spaces into inspiring environments.
This comprehensive undergraduate program combines theory, practical application, and hands-on training to provide students with a deep understanding of design principles, space planning, materials, furniture design, lighting, and sustainable practices.
With a curriculum that aligns with industry standards, students gain expertise in computer-aided design (CAD), 3D visualization, and emerging design technologies. The program focuses on the overall development of the students by offering various co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
The diverse range of electives allows students to select subjects that align with their interests and serve as the foundation for their research projects.
After 3rd year, students have the option to exit the course with a bachelor’s degree in Interior design or to continue with the fourth year for an honors degree. In the fourth year of the B.Sc. in Interior Design program, students are required to complete a research or thesis project during the seventh semester, alongside other technical subjects. In the eighth semester, they have the opportunity to gain practical industry experience through a structured internship program. This internship enables them to work with esteemed interior designers, architectural firms, design studios, and construction companies, providing valuable hands-on exposure to professional practices. Upon successfully completing both requirements in their fourth year, students are awarded an Honours Degree.
Eligibility Criteria
The Candidate must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examination from recognized board with minimum 45% aggregate marks in any stream (Science / Commerce / Arts)
