The three hours long session began with the introduction to speakers by Prof. Tejashree Lakras. The first presentation was given by Architect Vyoma Popat on her thesis titled as “Form Based Codes”. The presentation highlighted how thorough research on site and with the community helped in developing the project guideline. The thrust area of the project was shown very clearly with all types of graphics and the process of original idea translation to the research project was also presented very well. The presentation concluded by showing how the project developed the guidelines to change the function based codes to form one. It was followed by a Question Answer session where a lot of design related questions and process related queries were answered.

The next presentation was by Architect Rishabh Chamedia on his thesis titled as “Dignified living-Housing lots for city migrants”. The presentation included very good representation and narrative skills. It also highlighted the main portion of the thesis that it did not look at product oriented design but function centred approach. This was also very well received and appreciated by all the students’ audience. The presentation concluded with the saying that city requirements should be part of an architectural project and not the standard site and plot based approach should be imposed. This was followed by Question Answer session.
