As part of the PiCA Archilogics Lecture Series, the lecture titled ‘Hotel and Hospitality Design’ featured Architect Eranna Yekbote as the guest speaker on 7th July, 2023 in Conclave 2.
The lecture was organized for semester V students as it is directly related to their ongoing architectural design project, the Wayside Amenity Centre on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. This lecture aimed to contextualize their project within the real-world framework of highway side amenities and hotels. It provided students with valuable insights into the complexities of designing motels, restaurants, retail spaces, and recreational facilities along a highway.
During Ar. Eranna Yekbote’s lecture, several key insights were shared. He showcased a diverse portfolio of hotel projects, ranging from luxurious resorts to roadside inns, demonstrating his versatility in design. Emphasizing the importance of location and context, Yekbote urged students to create designs that harmonize with their surroundings. Additionally, the lecture highlighted the integration of technology and sustainable practices to enhance guest experience.
