The lecture was organized on 7th July, 2023, in the 5th year studio under the PICA Archilogics lecture Series 2023-24. The session was conducted under Semester IX Architectural Building services.
Aim:
To learn specialized services for Public Buildings
Objective:
To Observe and understanding In detailed layout, sections, & views of airport Hotel & Cinema design for specialized services.
Brief of the Lecture
The lecture commenced after a brief introduction of the guest lecturer Ar. Eranna Yekbote. By Prof. Smita Dalvi. Ar. Eranna Yekbote then introduced the students regarding his practice and the projects he is working on. He explained the students the various services through his plans and the consideration at the design stage itself. He explained with the following points during his presentation.
- Detail of planning strategies and services facilitation to get hassle free functioning of the Hotel.
- Coordination, controlling and management of various specialized services for Hotel.
- Cinema hall layout and its functioning w.r.t different services.
- Identification, understanding and detailing of Specialized services catering to Cinema halls.
- Briefing on Sight lines, viewing angles and various leveled tiers of Cinemas.
This discussion was followed up by QA session in which students & faculty participated which made the session interactive.
Overall, the project surely provided a baseline for the students who are in the phase of the Design Development of their AD project.
Outcome:
The students were able to understand the space requirement for different types of services and its circulation in plan and sections. The Acoustic treatment given for different spaces.
