Aim:
To develop team bonding and to build an approach that encourages students to engage in activities designed to stretch and strengthen design thinking adaptability, and innovation.
Objectives:
- Exercises to act as kick starters that can feed the imagination for the housing studio.
- Enhancing of design skills, creativity, or problem-solving abilities.
- Will involve repetitive design exercises, challenges, designed to stretch and strengthen design thinking, adaptability, and innovation.
- Developing a team bonding so as to facilitate group work in the Design studio throughout the semester.
An off-site activity was organized for the students of The 4th year class students to YMCA Campsite at Kamshet Designed by Ar. Christopher beninger, on 7th and 8th July, 2023. The two day stay at Kamshet was focused majorly on team bonding and certain sketching exercises acting as warm ups or kick starters for the Housing studio to be followed later in the semester.
The activities on the first day involved an interactive an session with students sketching design ideas in terms of geometry, volumetric engagements of the insides
The second day was a fun activity time where we all strolled down the picturesque and scenic views of the YMCA campus.
Outcome of the Tour:
It served as a preparatory exercise for the upcoming Housing Design studio for the semester having warmed up with the design aerobic exercises carried out at the campsite.
