Pillai College of Architecture, New Panvel celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on 15th August, 2024. The event aimed to instill a sense of pride, unity, and patriotism among the students, faculty, and local community. The day commenced with a dignified flag hoisting ceremony. The attendees saluted the flag as the national anthem echoed in the air, creating a sense of unity and reverence. The Independence Day celebration began promptly at 8:00 p.m., setting a tone of pride and unity for the evening. The event was hosted by Nivedita Madam and featured Dr. Arun Pillai as the Chief Guest. Dr. Arun Pillai delivered a compelling address. Dr. Pillai spoke about the historical journey of independence and its relevance in contemporary times. His speech underscored the values of freedom, responsibility, and progress. Dr. Pillai’s insights resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring them to contribute positively to the nation’s growth.
The gathering included PICA Principal Dr. Sudnya Mahimkar, the teaching and non-teaching staff, and members of the Student Council. The event featured a series of patriotic acts performed by students. These acts included skits, dances, and musical performances that depicted the struggle of independence. Students from the Architecture Department were honored to be a part of this event .The Independence Day celebration was a resounding success.
