Details of the Event:
Our idea was to study the tribal villages at the foothills of Matheran and identify the issues related to maternity care. We had already decided that we will do a maternity centre.
As the Thakur and Katkari community resides at very close proximity from the Institute we took up about six villages to study the rural settlement, the building technology, the culture and the issues that these communities face.
A thorough mapping exercise was conducted to create an engagement with the rural community.
This exhibition was a result of one month long rural mapping exercise.
