The Council of Architecture (Promoter), with a view to encourage and motivate the students of Graduate Courses in Architecture has instituted all India Awards for Excellence in Architectural Thesis, submitted in compliance to the requirements of the Bachelor’s degree program in Architecture and invited students to participate in this prestigious competition by submitting their thesis projects in accordance with the conditions and instructions set out below. JK Cement Ltd. has come forward to collaborate with COA and promote the JK AYA Best Architecture Student of the Year Award to be jointly conducted with the COA Awards program for excellence in Architectural Thesis. The joint awards program is promoted with an objective to encourage talent of students from across the country.
To initiate the Participation process, a Google Form was circulated to all interested students and faculty members. This form served as a platform for nominations and included the thesis work of participating students. The objective was to ensure that all relevant thesis projects were considered for evaluation.
Once the nominations were collected, the submitted thesis works were thoroughly reviewed by all faculty members. The entries were divided into two categories i.e Architecture project and project addressing concerns within the society as per COA nomination forms. From this list, four students were shortlisted for final entry based on the merits of their work. This shortlist reflects the high standards and creativity exhibited in their thesis submissions.
The shortlisted students were Vaishnavi kandathil, Faisal Shah for category 1 : Architecture project and Faiz kasu and sudnesha Chatterjee for category 2 : project addressing concerns.
The final event was hosted by Pillai HOC college of architecture, Rasayani campus from 29th September to 1st October, 2024.
The details of the events were as follows:
Day 1: Inauguration and public Exhibition,
Day 2: Closed jury for shortlisting of zone 3 entries,
Day 3 : Jury presentations of shortlisted participants and public exhibition
From the above mentioned students , Faiz Kasu was shortlisted as one of the five entires from zone 3 category 2: project addressing concerns for the COA thesis awards.
