India celebrates its Independence Day on the 15th of August every year. However, this year, the auspicious day is being celebrated as ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2022’. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate 75 years of progressive Independent India. Through Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, India is celebrating the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
To grace this occasion, the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell added one celebration activity in the IIC portal. All institutes were urged to conduct the same by holding competitions ranging from poster-making, drawings, paintings, slogan writing to essays and submit the responses.
Commemorating this prestigious day of India, Pillai College of Architecture had held a competition by engaging the entire vertical of PiCANS. It took place on the 12th August, 2022 in the 1st floor studio. The supervision was done by Prof. Kedar Shinde and Prof. Jayesh Patil. Creative works of students were exhibited on the panels for judgement after 3 hrs. The event was given a proper closure with the declaration of all the winners after a careful consideration of all the exhibits. Students namely; Siddhi Jadhav and Purva Shirke were the 2nd and 3rd runner-ups respectively for the poster making competition. The 1st position was secured by Saish Karangutkar from the 2nd year of B.Arch. Similarly, the winner of the Essay writing competition was Reia Babu and that of Slogan writing was Hrishikesh Shah.
