On the occasion of International Women’s Day, an inspiring event was organized by Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur (SIBC) in collaboration with the Women Development Cell of the Pillai Group of Institutions. The celebration aimed to honor the achievements of women and promote gender equality through meaningful discussions and engagement. The highlight of the event was the presence of Ms. Honey Thaljieh, a prominent figure in international sports and the first female to captain the Palestinian national football team. Representing FIFA, Ms. Thaljieh addressed the audience with an empowering talk that shed light on her journey, the role of women in sports, and the importance of breaking barriers.

The Program was graciously hosted by Celina Madam, who ensured the smooth flow of events while keeping the audience engaged.

Yvette Lee Madam gave a brief, yet insightful overview of the impactful work carried out by Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur, emphasizing their mission to uplift and empower women through various initiatives.

The Event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Daphne Pillai, Chairperson of the Pillai Group of Institutions. In her speech, she welcomed the distinguished guest and applauded the efforts of women who contribute significantly across different fields. Dr. Daphne felicitated Ms. Honey with the Soroptimist International award.

The Event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. Smita Dalvi, who acknowledged the efforts of all individuals and teams involved in making the event a success. The celebration served as a platform to inspire students and faculty alike, reinforcing the message of empowerment, leadership, and equality.
