On the 5th September, the Senate Student Council of PICA hosted a grand event celebrating Onam and paying tribute to Teachers’ Day. This occasion brought together PICA students and teachers in a vibrant and culturally rich celebration. The event, held at the Ground Floor Studio, was marked by its traditional Kerala ambiance, with participants dressed in elegant Kerala traditional attire. The celebration was a blend of festive Onam activities and heartfelt acknowledgments for the contributions of teachers. The event commenced with a traditional ceremony, symbolizing the beginning of the festivities. Participants enjoyed a range of activities including traditional Onam songs, dance performances, and a display of the intricate floral arrangement known as Pookalam. The latter part of the event focused on honouring teachers. Students expressed their gratitude through speeches, performances, and presenting tokens of appreciation. The event concluded with a brief address by the Senate Student Council, highlighting the importance of both Onam and Teachers’ Day. Participants adhered to the dress code, donning traditional Kerala garments such as the mundu and sari, which added authenticity and charm to the celebration. The event featured several traditional performances including Onam songs and Thiruvathira dance, which were met with enthusiastic applause from the audience. The tribute segment was particularly moving, with students sharing personal anecdotes and presenting gifts to their teachers. The Onam Celebration and Teachers’ Day Tribute organized by the Senate Student Council was a resounding success. It effectively combined cultural festivities with a meaningful recognition of teachers’ contributions.
