Raksha Bandhan, the heartwarming festival that celebrates the unique bond between brothers and sisters, was observed with tremendous zeal at Pillai College of Architecture, New Panvel. This year, on the 31st of August, the celebrations took on an even more special dimension as we had the privilege of welcoming lady police officers as our esteemed guests of honor. The event was a beautiful blend of tradition, respect for law enforcement, and the spirit of togetherness.
Several lady police officers from the Khandeshwar police department graced us with their presence. Sub Inspector Mrs. Vaishali Galande, Head Constable Mrs. Vaishali Patil, Police Naik Vidya Bhuyal, Police Constable Mrs. Punam Gaikar, Police Constable Mrs. Rajeshri Kotkar, Police Constable Mrs. Rasika Jadhav, and Police Constable Mrs. Swapnali Khadi were among the esteemed guests.
The guests were welcomed with traditional ceremonies, and their presence deeply touched the hearts of everyone in attendance. The Raksha Bandhan celebration at the college was not just about tradition; it aimed to challenge gender stereotypes and promote unity and gratitude. In a progressive and heartwarming gesture, male students took the lead by choosing to tie rakhis to the lady police officers, who were invited as special guests.
The lady police officers, in turn, shared their experiences and offered inspirational messages to the students. They encouraged the young minds to consider careers in law enforcement and emphasized the importance of breaking gender stereotypes in society.
The Raksha Bandhan celebration at Pillai College of Architecture was truly exceptional. It preserved the festival’s traditional essence while promoting gender equality, respect, and inclusivity in our society. This event made a profound impact on everyone present, underscoring the significance of breaking stereotypes and nurturing unity and gratitude within our celebrations and community.
It was a day that will be remembered for its meaningful and progressive approach to a cherished tradition.
