Every year on 19th February SHIV JAYANTI is celebrated with great enthusiasm. This year also our college organized a fascinating event on 17th February, 2023. The Atrium was beautifully decorated with Bhagwa Jhenda, Dhal-talwar, and Rajmudra. The stage was decorated to resemble the walls of the forts. Two small scale models of cannons were also placed on the stage. A beautiful model of SINDHUDURG of A0 size was placed just in front of the stage, which was made by our 2nd year and 3rd year PiCA students.

The event started with lighting of lamp in front of Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s murti by faculty members of different branches and then they were honoured by tying ‘phetas’. The event poster was revealed after a loud ‘Ghoshana’, “Praudh Pratap Purandar Kshatriya Kulavatauns Sinhasanadhishwara Rajadhiraaj Yogiraj Shreemant Shree CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ KI JAI!”

The first few dance performances were dedicated to Lord Ganesha, after which few more dances were performed. Then a Powada was performed, during which Ganesh Patil of 3rd year, from PiCA painted a mesmerizing canvas painting of Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on stage within 6 minutes. Dance performances by the students of PiCA brought a different energy in the event.

The committee members were honoured by giving Tulsi saplings. A guest faculty recited a poem by Kavi Kalash, a friend and philosopher to Shree Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, which was dedicated to Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Later games were presented by two artists, a boy and a girl, showing their talent using talwar, lathi and danpatta. The event ended on a high note, that is by Dhol Tasha Pathak.

All the performances along with the skit were a highlight of the event. The event was then given a heartfelt closure.
