Location 1: Khopoli
The AD project for Semester lll revolves around the idea to design a Weekend home in the outskirts of the main cities. The location is being chosen near Khopoli village at Jambhulpada. It is a Village in Sudhagad Taluka in Raigad District. It is approximately 90 km from Mumbai and well connected from Thane, Pune and Panvel etc.
Intension of the Visit:
Visiting and grasping the overall understanding of following points in site
- Context of the site
- Climatic conditions
- Site accessibility
- Flora and fauna present on the site
- Natural resources around the site etc.
Students documented the site through photographs and also measured the location of trees manually. The 18 Acre site is divided by 3 m wide road into two parts and located along the riverside on its south. We are focusing on the southern part of the site along with the road as seen in the drawings below.
Location 2: In between Matheran and Panvel
The AD project for Semester III revolves around the idea to design a Weekend home in the outskirts of the main cities. Another site location is chosen near Panvel Swapna Nagari- Marathi film industry which is adjoined by a river on one side and a lake on another side and covered with dense vegetation.
