“Tekton-Talks” – is a bi-annual public lecture series as an extension activity of our Tekton Journal.

The January 2019 Tekton-Talk was held in collaboration with ‘Mindscape Festival’ – a public festival of ideas, organized every year by X-Pican, our alumni association and the student body. The latest issue of Tekton volume 5, issue 2 was released at the hands of the guest speaker Dr. Pihu Pardeshi and Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai, Chairman of MES and Dr. Daphne Pillai, Secretary MES.

Dr. Ravikant Singh is the founder of Doctors For You (DFY) and Dr. Peehu Pardeshi is the senior research officer at Doctors For You looking after the research at various centers of DFY across the country.

Dr. Pihu Pardeshi, in a lecture titled, “Design to Death”, summarized the findings of their research on incidence of TB amongst the residents of 2 SRA (Slum Rehabilitation Authority) projects in Govandi. Architecture and site planning have repercussions on public health. The session highlighted the need to review existing regulations and policies to make healthy smart cities.

The lecture was followed by Q/A from the audience.
