“Tekton-Talks”- is a Public Lecture Series as an extension activity of our Tekton Journal.
This Academic Year’s Tekton Talks event was held on 28th March in the Ground Floor Architecture studio of Dr. K.M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, New Panvel. The talk was organized in association with the ‘Mutations’ event of M.Arch. Urban Design programme.
The invited Speaker for Tekton-Talk was Prof. Mayuresh Gorey, an Urban Designer and a teacher based in Mumbai. The title of the Talk was: Practicing Academics in Architecture.
Prof. Gorey explored the idea of practicing architecture through academics and created a theoretical framework for it. He also shared glimpses of his academic journey and methods of working as an architect and Academician. He spoke about the importance of collaboration as institutions and as an individual, creating niche values for one self through collaborations and mainly contribution towards the field and the society.
There was a lively discussion between the speaker and the faculty members on their own experiences of practicing academics.
The event was concluded by felicitation of the guest speaker by Dr. Sudnya Mahimkar and Prof. Shubhangi Bhide.
