Playing dry Holi is a fantastic way to conserve water while still enjoying the vibrant festivities. You can opt for eco-friendly, dry colors made from natural ingredients like turmeric, beetroot, or even flour. Encourage your community to join in on the fun while being mindful of water conservation. Remember, celebrating responsibly adds to the joy of the occasion!
On 22nd March, 2024, in commemoration of World Water Day, Nature’s club at Pillai College of Architecture organized a special event focused on water conservation and sustainable celebration practices. As part of our efforts to raise awareness about the importance of preserving water, we hosted a dry Holi celebration. The posters were made by students and circulated between one another. As an outreach program for conservation of Water, the students have taken initiatives for the awareness of surrounding communities regarding the same. Most of them have taken the posters throughout their campuses and surroundings to educate people about waste of water and need of conservation during any festivals/ celebrations.
The dry Holi celebration attracted participants of all ages, fostering a sense of community spirit and unity.
Many attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to celebrate Holi in an environmentally friendly manner, aligning with the theme of water conservation.
The awareness booths and workshops received positive feedback, with attendees expressing a newfound understanding of the importance of water conservation.
The dry Holi event held on World Water Day 2024 was a resounding success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of community members and the dedication of volunteers (students and faculties). By promoting water conservation and sustainable practices, we hope to inspire positive change and contribute to a more water-conscious society.
