The program began at 8:00 AM with the gathering of students, faculty, and staff members in the college campus.
The celebration started with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, which filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervor. The event was attended by the PICA Student Council, the teaching and non-teaching faculty members, and the Principal of Pillai College of Architecture, all of whom actively participated in the program.
The occasion was made more memorable by the presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Kavita Kathare, Associate Professor at Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science. In her address, she highlighted the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and emphasized the responsibility of today’s youth in carrying forward the values of democracy, unity, and progress. Her motivational words encouraged everyone to contribute positively to society and to work towards building a stronger nation.
The cultural program added vibrancy to the event. It included:
- A dance performance by the First Year Interior Design students, showcasing the spirit of freedom and cultural diversity.
- Singing performances by the Second Year and Third Year Architecture students, who presented patriotic songs that resonated with the audience and filled their hearts with emotion.
The entire program reflected the unity in diversity of India and brought together students and faculty in a shared spirit of national pride. Alongside cultural activities, students also shared their thoughts and reflections on the importance of independence and how the younger generation can play a role in shaping the future of the country.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by a member of the Student Council, acknowledging the efforts of the organizers, participants, and faculty members. The program ended on a high note with the singing of the National Anthem, leaving everyone inspired and proud to be part of the nation.
