On 24th August, 2023; a guest lecture was organized at Pillai College of Architecture to commemorate Akshay Urja Diwas. The lecture aimed to provide students with insights into renewable energy sources and their significance in today’s world. The distinguished guest speaker for the event was Prof. Sanjay Shirgaonkar, a renowned expert in the field of renewable energy.
Prof. Sanjay Shirgaonkar, addressed the gathering of students, faculty, and staff members. With extensive experience in the field, he added depth and value to the discourse. He began by highlighting the significance of Akshay Urja Diwas, emphasizing the need to harness renewable energy sources to ensure a sustainable future. Adding to it he explained the types of Renewable Energy. He also addressed challenges like intermittency and infrastructure requirement, technological advancement. As the lecture was hosted at an architecture college, Prof. Shirgaonkar emphasized the pivotal role architects play in designing energy – efficient buildings that incorporate renewable energy systems seamlessly.
After the enlightening presentation, an interactive question-and-answer session was held. This allowed students to directly engage with Prof. Shirgaonkar, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
