This dialogue helped students generate more interest in understanding children’s age group as a very special and unique age group of the society and hence requiring the friendly built environments. The speaker went on specifying the different parameters of design that her firm takes into consideration while designing the playgrounds like site context, psychology of users, social inclusions, interactive activities, innovation and creativity, safety etc. With the help of a few projects from the studio, the speaker talked about elements of design which motivates children to learn and play healthily and stay connected with natural surroundings, adults around and their peers too. The session also included the importance of ergonomics of this age group while designing the spaces for them and finally concluded with question answer period with students.
