“Preparing for Post Graduate Study”
Prof. Kavita Pradhan mentioned in her introductory speech that the 5th year students, currently busy in their thesis work are also planning their post graduate study which has become very important in today’s era.
Ms. Akshata Rao proceeded with details of various competitive exams that are applicable for various countries. She explained about different courses where GRE score is mandatory namely Construction management, M. Arch. For some design related courses, GRE may not be mandatory.
She explained the subjects in GRE exams and told that 4 universities will get scores reported at no charge by GRE.
TOEFL is the test of English language which is also the requirement for VISA in USA. The minimum score requirements are mentioned by universities.
Akshata informed that IELTS is accepted by all countries. Scores are valid for 2 years. British Council IELTS is simpler compared to Australian – IDP, but the dates available are fewer and they get filled soon. PTE is similar exam accepted by Australia.
Akshata also explained about GMAT, the exam required for management courses.
She also offered to give students a mock test of IELTS and TOEFL.
It was explained to students how much time is required for preparation of GRE & IELTS.
It was a very informative session for preparing for higher education focusing on competitive exams.
