As a measure of staff welfare, Pillai College of Architecture came together with Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research (PIMSR) and Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur (SIBC) to organize gift-giving to the help staff of Pillai Campus, New Panvel, and construction labour currently working on repair and maintenance.
With the help of SIBC members, we arranged donations to obtain new-brand export quality T-shirts from a wholesaler and obtained about 300 T-shirts.
On 4th August, we held an event of distributing the first lot of T shirts to a small group at the hands of Dr. Daphne Pillai, Secretary Mahatma Education Society. The recipients were very happy to receive the gift. The women staff received the gift on behalf of their husbands. In coming days, the rest of the shirts were distributed to the remaining support staff members. The event was co-ordinated by Prof. Smita Dalvi of PiCA and Prof. Celina Joy of PIMSR.
